On December 20, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office working with the Arkansas State Police arrested Shawn Rowlett (02/09/68) of Ravenden Springs on charges of Rape and child pornography. The arrest came after a 13 year old girl reported that Rowlett had been having sex with her at a hunting cabin in the Strawberry area. An investigation was begun into the allegations. A search warrant was obtained for Rowlett’s cell phone and computer equipment. On the computer officers found over 100 images of child pornography, mostly of the victim. The evidence consisted of still images and video. Some of the video showed the victim and Rowlett together at the hunting cabin near Strawberry. Officers went to Randolph County and arrested Rowlett. Rowlett was then transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
