Donald Ray “Donnie” Roberts, 72, of Hoxie went to his Heavenly home June 10, 2023, with his family by his side. Donnie was born April 20, 1951, in Marianna, AR to Odis Roberts and Alice Irene Roberts. Donnie enjoyed hunting and fishing and was strong in his Christian faith. Donnie was a people person, never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Donnie was a hard worker. Donnie grew up farming. While living in Hoxie, he owned and operated Don’s Quality Meats for 16 years and also served as Mayor of Hoxie for 4 years.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Roberts and Clayton Roberts; and two sisters, Cora Steele and Patti Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Roberts of the home; two daughters, Amy (Chuck) Fitzgerald of Walnut Ridge and Amanda (Parker) Crum of Searcy; three granddaughters, Katelyn (Joshua) Wilson, Chelsea (David) Smith, and Olivia Crum; two grandsons, Paxton Crum and Phoenix Crum; two Great grandson, EJ Smith and Titus Wilson; three brothers, Jerry (Carolyn) Roberts, Pardo (Libby) Roberts and Kevin (Kim) Roberts; five sisters, Murl (Gary) Defries, Mary Sharp, Janice (Rodger) Slagley, Kim (Steve) Huddleston and Karen McDonald; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are David Martin, Will Roberts, Darren Defries, Rob Defries, Blake Kibbons and Josh McDonald.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 12, 2023, at People’s Faith Tabernacle in Hoxie, AR from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at People’s Faith Tabernacle in Hoxie, AR starting at 11:00am with Chuck Fitzgerald and Roger Brand officiating.
Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.
