Authorities were notified of an accidental shooting that occurred on Saturday around 4:54pm.
Saffell Fire Department, Strawberry Fire, ProMed Ambulance we’re dispatched to Lawrence 358 after the Lawrence County Dispatch received a report of a person shot in the leg after a firearm “fell in the floor” of a vehicle and discharged.
A medical helicopter was placed on standby but cancelled after first responders arrived on scene and advised medics of the patients condition.
No names were released in the incident, the patient was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
The incident is being investigated by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
