According to the Arkansas State Police a woman died after the vehicle she was riding in skidded across the road and overturned.
The crash occurred at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8th on State Hwy 167 north of Evening Shade in Sharp County.
According to the ASP preliminary fatal crash report, Paul K. Scott, Jr., age 32 of Thayer, Mo., was southbound when his 2006 Honda Civic lost control on the wet roadway and crossed the northbound lane before leaving the road.
The vehicle struck several trees before overturning, the ASP report stated.
His passenger, Angela S. Richardson, age 30 of Salem, Illinois, was taken to UAMS in Little Rock where she later died.
Scott was transported to White River Medical Center in Batesville for treatment of his injuries.
Arkansas State Police reported it was raining and the road was wet at the time of the crash.
