Local attorney Chris Jester of Cherokee Village announces his candidacy for State District Court Judge, Division 1, for the new 11th District which will include the counties of Lawrence, Randolph, and Sharp.  

“I have the experience, qualifications, and temperament that our constituents need as a district judge.  I want to ensure that the district court is impartial and fair to everyone, just as our constitution provides,” Jester said.

Jester has over 30 years of law practice experience and is the managing public defender for Lawrence, Randolph, Sharp, and Jackson Counties, where he supervises a team of deputy public defenders and support staff.  

Jester graduated with honors from Arkansas State University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in business management.  Afterward, he attended the University of Arkansas Bowen School of Law at Little Rock where he earned a juris doctorate in 1989.   

Jester is married to Kelly Norris Jester, a nurse practitioner. Together, they have six children and three grandchildren. 

Early voting begins on February 17, 2020.  Election day is March 3, 2020.
