Around 2:45 pm on Saturday the Black Rock Fire Department and AET ambulance were dispatched to highway 63 just north of the rest area for an accident involving a motorcycle and a SUV. Once on scene responders found two seriously injured victims both from the motorcycle involved. Both had been thrown from the near head on accident and were described as serious to critical. There were no injuries in the SUV, highway 63 was closed as two helicopters were called to the scene along with an additional ambulance from Medic One.

Highway 63 was closed for over an hour as the patients were transferred to area hospitals by helicopter.
Sheriff’s deputies along with an officer from the Arkansas Game and Fish assisted with traffic control. The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police. The names of the injured haven’t been released pending conclusion by the ASP.
