At 8:28 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from 239 Lawrence 310 just outside Lynn reporting an 8 year old female child possibly drown in a bath tub. Lawrence County Dispatch called for Lynn Fire Department, AET Ambulance and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to respond to the address. The 911 caller stated the child was not breathing and CPR was in progress. A Medic One Ambulance on standby in the Portia area also responded to the call for assistance.

At 8:37 pm firefighters from the Lynn Fire Department requested a medical helicopter be sent to the scene. Survival Flight notified dispatch it had a 17 minute estimated time of arrival and launched a unit. Firefighters arrived at the residence and assisted with CPR until the first medical units arrived. Lawrence County Criminal Investigation Division along with investigators from the Arkansas State Police also responded to the scene.

Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office along with Lynn Firefighters secured a landing zone in a field close to the residence, at 8:59 pm deputies reported the helicopter was in sight and at 9:03 pm the helicopter landed at the landing zone. Ambulances were clear from the scene at 9:45 pm, Lynn Fire Department was clear from the scene at 10:07 pm. The victim was taken to an area hospital by helicopter.

The condition of the child is unknown at this time, the incident is still being investigated by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Investigators and the Arkansas State Police. Names of those involved have not been released at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.
