At 10:26 pm the Ravenden Volunteer Fire Department was notified of a one vehicle accident on Hwy 90 about a mile off Hwy 63.

Once on scene the Ravenden Firefighters and the Ravenden Police Department discovered the victim was trapped in the vehicle, extrication was immediately started. AET Ambulance of Imboden was paged and also responded, once medics received a patient update from firefighters on scene a medical helicopter was requested.

Units from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrived in Ravenden at a predetermined landing zone to assist the Ravenden Police and Fire Departments. At 10:45 the victim had been transferred to the AET Ambulance and was in route to the landing zone. The patient was transferred to the medical helicopter and taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.

The accident is being investigated by the Ravenden Police Department, the cause of the accident has not been released. The identity of the victim and extent of injuries has also not been released pending family notification.

The vehicle was removed by Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden.
