Shortly before 11 pm on Wednesday night, a Lawrence County DeputyÂ in the Imboden area noticed smoke in the area of Hwy 62 and 2nd Street. TheÂ deputy quickly discovered a residence located in the 200 block of West 2ndÂ Street with smoke coming from the roof. The deputy approached the residence andÂ attempting to make contact with anyone that may have been inside and contactedÂ the Lawrence County Dispatch reporting the fire.
Dispatch notified the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department and AETÂ Ambulance of Imboden. IVFD responded with two engines and multiple firemen toÂ the location.
Deputy Blake Liscomb stated he knocked out several windows andÂ called into the residence, noting there were no vehicles at the residence and itÂ did not appear anyone was home at the time of the fire.
Imboden requested the assistance of the Ravenden Volunteer FireÂ Department, Ravenden responded with an engine and manpower. The cause of theÂ fire is unknown at this time. Along with the fire departments, deputies from theÂ Lawrence County Sheriffâ€™s Office assisted with traffic.
