Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson stated today that Jeremy Gilliam, 38 of Black Rock was arrested after deputies responded to a report of possible drug activity at a residence in Black Rock.

As deputies were interviewing Gilliam, he reached into his pocket and swallowed what was later determined as a half gram of meth. Gilliam then ran from officers, throwing a second package of suspected on the ground. The Lawrence County Deputy called for assistance and began searching the scene, the officer found the bag containing nearly 12 grams of meth.

According to Sheriff Dotson, Gilliam admitted to swallowing the baggie containing the half gram of meth. Gilliam is a parolee on a suspended sentence, he is now in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a Bond Hearing.

Sheriff Dotson stated that Lawrence County Officers were assisted by Black Rock Police and the Arkansas State Police.
