Members of the Lawrence County Mounted Patrol along with Sheriff Jody Dotson today presented a check for $1,000.00 to The Children’s Shelter in Walnut Ridge. The money was raised with a trail ride, fun show and horse rides at the Foothill’s Festival. Members of the Mounted Patrol donate their time, horses and equipment in order to raise these funds.

The Children’s Shelter in Walnut Ridge opened it’s doors to it’s first guest in June of 2009. To date the shelter has served 501 children from 25 different counties in the State of Arkansas.

Sheriff Dotson released in a statement today, “the shelter is always in need of money, food and clothing. Any donations would be appreciated.”

If you would like to donate to the Children’s Shelter, contact Kathy Wells at the Children’s Shelter, 107 Benson Drive, Walnut Ridge Arkansas 72476 or call 870-886-5191.
