One Vehicle Rollover On Hwy 63 Located By Combined Efforts Of Lawrence County Dispatch, Deputies And Fire Departments

Just before midnight on Saturday night, the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a motorist that was overturned in the ditch. Unsure of his exact location, dispatch showed the location of the victims phone to be in the Sedgwick area.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted by an officer from Bono began the search with Bono Officer Chris Patrick covering the area south of Sedgwick while Lawrence County Deputy Ben Stone covered the north side, checking ditches and the bridge over the Cache River. The trapped victim remained on the phone with dispatch, telling the dispatch when he could hear sirens close to him.

Sedgwick Volunteer Fire Department, Walnut Ridge Fire Department, Arkansas State Troopers and Medic One Ambulance responded and joined in the search. The overturned Chevy Trail Blazer was located by a Walnut Ridge Fire Department unit, the victim was trapped but according to firefighters was not seriously injured. Walnut Ridge Firefighters extricated the victim from the vehicle and he was checked out by Medic One.
