Jonesboro Teen Becomes The 4th Drowning Victim On The Spring River This Year
 
Authorities are stating that underwater holes in the Spring River are contributing to the drowning risk this year. Local officials are contacting the Army Corps of Engineers in an effort to have the holes filled to attempt to prevent further drowning.
 
Hardy Police released a statement that Steven Dinet, III of Jonesboro is the latest victim. Dinet’s body was found around 8:30am on Monday after an overnight search of the area. Searchers worked from Sunday evening until midnight searching the river before calling the search until morning. Once the search resumed the body was found pinned under a rock in the area of the falls at Buford Beach. Divers using camera located the body.
 
More than two dozen people assisted with the search. The victim, Steven Dinet, III was 15 years old.
