On Feb.28th the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department arrested Christopher Montelongo of Hoxie on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver according to Sheriff Jody Dotson.
The arrest stemmed from a motorcycle accident that Montelongo was involved in back in September. During the investigation of the accident officers discovered a large baggie of marijuana in the suspect’s coat. Montelongo was transported to the hospital for his injuries he received as a result of the accident. Information gathered that day was used to obtain a warrant.
The Sheriff’s Department received information that Montelongo may have fled to Michigan when released from the hospital.
Montelongo was placed on the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office website as a “Most Wanted” and also ran on KAIT’s Region 8 Crime Watch. The Sheriff’s Office received several calls about Montelongo being in Michigan. Family of Montelongo contacted him and Montelongo turned himself in.
Bond was set at $20,000.00 and a Circuit Court date of March 23rd was issued.
Sheriff Dotson issued a “Thanks” to everyone who called in information and worked with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on this matter.
