The Arkansas State Police released its fatal crash report on the multi-vehicle crash at Hwy 63 & Hwy 91 on Tuesday May 5th 2026.
According to the report, a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling northbound on Hwy 63 driven by Ronald Sims, age 58 of Thayer Missouri, crossed the centerline and struck the front of a 2019 Ford Transit driven by Shelia Quarterman, age 58 of Pocahontas. After the collision, the 2013 Dodge was forced back over the centerline where is was struck by a 2021 Buick Enclave driven by 63 year old Danny Whitmire of Walnut Ridge.
Shelia Quarterman was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner, those listed as injured were:
Rebecca Dillingham age 64 of Ravenden Springs
Ronald Sims, age 58 of Thayer Missouri
Danny Whitmire, age 63 of Walnut Ridge
Shelly Whitmire, age 60 of Walnut Ridge
Also listed as injured were (2) unidentified minors
The accident was investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
