Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office Conducts Countywide Sex Offender Compliance Operation: Operation Protect Our Children

The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Arkansas Probation and Parole, conducted another countywide sex offender compliance operation last night as part of our continued commitment to protecting the citizens of Poinsett County.

This operation resulted in the arrest of twelve individuals for violations related to sex offender registration requirements and other criminal offenses discovered during the compliance checks.

The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office maintains a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to non-compliant sex offenders. Sex offender registration laws exist for one reason — to protect the public and provide accountability. When offenders fail to comply with registration requirements, provide false information, fail to report addresses, or violate the conditions placed upon them, they create a serious public safety concern.

These compliance checks are conducted to help ensure offenders are living where they are supposed to live, reporting accurate information, and following the law. Our office believes the safety of children, families, and communities must always come first.

The people of Poinsett County deserve to feel safe in their communities. We will continue conducting these operations and aggressively pursuing those who refuse to comply with the law. Registration requirements are not optional, and we will continue holding offenders accountable.

The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the assistance from the Trumann Police Department for allowing us to use their holding facilities. We also appreciate the hard work from our deputies, detectives, jailers, and dispatchers. Without them, this would not have been as successful as it was.
