A traffic stop in Hoxie on Monday has landed a man in the hospital and a female in jail.

Hoxie Police made a traffic stop around 2:30 near the Hoxie Police Department. During the stop the officer witnessed a female pass something to a male occupant of the vehicle. The officer immediately called for an ambulance after the male subject ate what officers believed was narcotics in an effort to conceal or destroy the evidence.

Gregory Wyatt King, 03/14/1972 of Benton was taken by ambulance to a Jonesboro hospital for treatment and will face charges. King also had a Failure To Appear warrant out of Lawrence County.

The female in the vehicle was identified as Jennifer L. Davis 05/31/1972 of Jonesboro was arrested on charges of Possession Of Meth, Possession Of Marijuana, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering With Evidence and Obstruction Of Governmental Operations.

Davis was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
