Yvonne Mock, 68, of Smithville, Arkansas, peacefully passed from this life on April 29, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. She was born on November 8, 1955, to the late Bill and Claire Wade. Having graduated from Sloan Hendrix High School in 1974, Yvonne pursued her passion for music and languages, ultimately becoming a beloved music and Spanish teacher. She dedicated three summers of her life immersing herself in Mexico to master the Spanish language. Her love for music extended beyond the classroom, as she gave private piano lessons for many years and found solace and joy in playing the piano herself.

Yvonne’s faith was an integral part of her life, and she found comfort and community in her Church of God Seventh Day congregation. In 1978, she exchanged vows with the love of her life, Tom, and they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that lasted a lifetime.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom Mock; son, Justin (Alissa Clark) Mock of Imboden; daughter, Alaina (Cliff) Eberlan of Smithville; adopted daughter, Jody (Lucian) Landers of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Camron Mock, Denym (Ashlyn) Crum, Derek Mathewson, Andrew Mathewson, Alexis Mathewson, and McKenna Eberlan; great grandchildren, Marlee Mock and Sylver Crum; and sister, Eileen Walton.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Edith Claire Wade, and brother, Ivan Raymond Wade.

A celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held in the near future, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and pay their respects to a woman who touched the lives of many through her passion for music, teaching, and faith. The funeral services and ceremonies to commemorate her life will be announced soon.

Yvonne’s legacy of love, music, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
