From the Greene County Sheriff:
On December 27, 2023, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division received a report of an alleged theft of money ($25,000) as well as forgery of a check. The alleged offenders, Matthew and Chasity Green, were known to the victim. Following an extensive investigation, felony bench warrants were issued for the Greens. They turned themselves in to my office last night. The probable cause affidavit narratives are attached. The charges and bonds are as follows:

Chasity Green:
One count Theft of Property, Class B Felony -$25,000 cash only bond, One count Forgery 2nd Degree, Class C Felony – $50,000 cash or surety bond

Matthew Green:
One count Theft of Property, Class B Felony – $25,000 cash only bond

Matthew Green was hired by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in February of 2020, resigning in November of 2023 to accept a School Resource Officer position with the Gentry Police Department in Benton County. He initially served as a patrol deputy here at the sheriff’s office before transferring into a School Resource Officer position where he remained until his resignation in November of 2023.

Due to Green’s past employment with Greene County, he and his wife are currently being housed in the Randolph County Detention Center in Pocahontas on the bond amounts listed above. It is unknown at this time when their first appearance in court will occur.

As this investigation is still ongoing, no further information will be released at this time.
