Nancy Young, Widow of Eugene Young passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, at Walnut Ridge. Nancy was born August 15, 1953, to Taylor and Inez Lillard.
Nancy graduated from Lynn High School and Ouachita Baptist College where she studied Psychology. She went to work writing permits for oversize loads and did this till they moved from North Carolina back to Arkansas when Gene’s health started to decline. Nancy spent most of her time watching westerns with Ted. She loved spending time with her family but most of all loved that she got to spend time with Ted. She loved it when the great nieces and nephews came to spend time with her. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by husband, Eugene Young and her parents, Taylor and Inez Lillard.
She left behind her Fiance, Ted Penn; one brother, John (Debbie) Lillard of Smithville; two sisters, Connie Lillard of Pocahontas and Teresa (Bill) Bussey of Gray Court, SC.; one stepson, Marshall Young of Pocahontas; two stepdaughters, Doreine Young of Wisconsin and Janet Cadena of Texas; nephews, Travis (Holli) Lillard and Wes (Missy) Lillard; nieces, Jennie (Randy) Oden and Jamie (BJ) Parsons; step grandchildren, Konner, Raina and Zack; great nephews and nieces, Brooke (Steven), Abby, Tanner, Cerstin; great great nieces, K’dee, Emberlee, Vivian; great great nephew, Samuel, Christian, Trucker, and RJ and many other friends and relatives that will miss her.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 6, 2024, with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. All services will be held at the Smithville Baptist Church with Keith Marlin officiating. A burial will follow in the Smithville Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are the Lynn High School Class of 1971.
