C. Ray Martin, 73 of Walnut Ridge, died March 13, 2024, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born January 18, 1951, in Walnut Ridge, son of Luther J. Martin and Charlene Toye Martin. He was united in marriage to Marcia Davis on August 10, 1971. Ray was a mechanic and the owner and operator of Ray Martin’s Auto Repair Shop in Walnut Ridge. Only thing Ray loved more than cars was his family and watching his grandson play baseball. He was a born again Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Martin; and his father-in-law, Gene Davis. 

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marcia; a son, Drake (Marcia) Martin of Walnut Ridge; his grandson, Reid; two sisters, Diana (Mike) Shelton of Walnut Ridge and Julie (Jerry) Clayton of Lebanon, MO; his mother-in-law, Norma Davis of Walnut Ridge; a sister-in-law, Debbie Smith of Walnut Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Jake Geunrich officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Swindle, Bobby Wagoner, Matthew Smith, Matthew Clark, William and Ryan Shoe. Honorary Pallbearer is Bill Binkley. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. till 2 P.M. on Friday.
