Authorities say a Lakeview woman has been arrested on manslaughter charges.
Jennifer Kornegay, age 51 was arrested after she allegedly gave her husband fentanyl for pain relief.
Investigators say the medical examiner’s report showed the cause of her husband’s death was from Fentanyl, oxycodone, and methamphetamine in the victim’s body.
Kornegay then allegedly left the state and went to Texas with another man.
Authorities say she left behind four dogs without adequate care, and one died before they were rescued.
Kornegay is facing felony charges of manslaughter, a Class Y count of introduction of a controlled substance into the body of another person, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and four misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals.
Kornegay was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and released Tuesday on a $75,000 bond.
