Edward Joe Mullen, Sr., 81 of Black Rock, died Saturday December 2, 2023 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.
He was born September 4, 1942 in Lauratown Community to Paul Mullen & Nella Householder Mullen. He was a farm laborer and loved working outdoors and drinking pepsi. He was a friend to many and was always there if needed. He lived by the motto of “Here for a little while, and gone forever.”
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nella; sons, Bill Mullen and Scotty Mullen; infant daughter, Mecal; infant grandson, Dylan; brother, Dennis Mullen; and sisters, Sue Huskey and Phyllis Flippo.
He is survived by children, JR (Connie) Mullen and Matt (Michelle) Mullen & their mother Jeri Mullen all of Walnut Ridge; Katie (Eric) Mohlke of Cord, Dillion (Erica) Mullen of Black Rock, and Breanna (Ryan) Shoe of Walnut Ridge & their mother Donna Mullen of Black Rock; and Kara Beth (Michael) Minard of Hoxie; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Mullen of Senatobia, MS and Mark Mullen of West Plains, MO; and sister, Paulette Price of Ravenden; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday December 5, 2023 from 12:00PM-2:00PM at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Funeral services begin immediately following at 2:00PM with Steve Alexander officiating.
Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery in Portia, Arkansas under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Homes of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, Arkansas.
