On Friday, Sharp County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Third Judicial Drug Task Force in executing a search warrant on a residence between Smithville and Cave City.
Authorities say two arrests have been made on drug charges as a result of an investigation over the course of several months. The identities of two individuals will not be released until the filing of formal charges according to officials.
An estimated $190,000 in illegal narcotics were seized, including fentanyl.
The Third Judicial Drug Task Force and the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the assistance of the 16th JudicialDrug Task Force, the Cave City Police Department, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Newport Police Department, Pocahontas Police Department, The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Arkansas State Police, the Independence County Sheriffs Office and the Department of Homeland Security for their assistance and the intelligence they provided leading to a successful and safe outcome to this investigation.
