Authorities say James Edward Mansfield age 31 of Powhatan was arrested by Jonesboro Police and charged with Felony Rape.
The arrest follows an investigation into a minor who showed up at a local hospital claiming she had been sexually assaulted by Mansfield.
James Edward Mansfield was the child’s caregiver according to authorities and the sexual assault took place over a three week period according to investigators. Mansfield allegedly sexually assaulted the female minor, provided alcohol and vape to the child.
Mansfield shows to currently be incarcerated in the Craighead County Detention Center.
On September 1st, Mansfield was in court for an appearance when a $500,000 bond was set.
