Greene County deputies, with the assistance of the Marmaduke Police Department, took a Marmaduke man into custody this evening on three counts of Rape (Class Y felony) and three counts of Incest (Class C felony).
Cecil Hardin, age 58 of Marmaduke, was arrested after a probable cause affidavit prepared by Captain Rhonda Thomas was reviewed by Judge Randy Philhours. Judge Philhours found probable cause to be established by investigators. The facts constituting probable cause are as follows:
On 7/17/2023, a 23-year-old adult male diagnosed with moderate intellectual disability was interviewed at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. The male disclosed that his court appointed guardian who is also his father had done inappropriate sexual things to him. The alleged victim disclosed sexual acts that would constitute rape and incest by statute. The victim stated that these acts occurred after he turned 18 in two separate locations in Greene County, Arkansas.
The potential defendant Cecil Hardin was interviewed at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on 7/19/2023 and gave a self-incriminating statement.
No bond has been set as of yet, and Hardin will go before a judge this week for a first appearance hearing where bond will be considered.
As this investigation is ongoing, no further information will be released.
