Fatality reported at accident near Ravenden on Tuesday morning.
At 6am on Tuesday morning the Lawrence County Dispatch received reports of a multiple vehicle accident involving at several vehicles and a semi truck on Highway 63 near the Lawrence/Sharp County line.
Ravenden Fire, Ravenden Police, ProMed Ambulance of Imboden, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies, Arkansas State Police and medical units from Sharp County were requested to the scene.
Once units arrived, the Lawrence County Coroner was requested to the scene for a fatality. Responders reported the highway was blocked due to the accident.
A medical helicopter from Survival Flight was requested by medics but declined due to weather.
Several injuries were reported, ProMed Ambulance transported one injured victim to a local hospital.
Highway 63 has been closed for an extended period of time as the accident is investigated.
The identity of those involved has not been released pending notification of next of kin and the conclusion of the accident investigation.
The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
