A Walnut Ridge man identified as George Christian Sackmaster has been charged with aggravated assault after he shot another man.
The incident occurred on Friday, Nov. 12th in the 800-block of SW 3rd Street.
A WRPD officer arrived at the scene and found George Christian Sackmaster, age 24 on scene attempting to render aid to the victim identified as Caleb Eutah Evans who had been shot.
Sackmaster admitted to investigators he had shot Evans with a Glock 9 mm handgun which authorities found at the scene.
Evans underwent surgery after being transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital.
Sackmaster was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
