Strawberry-  Wanda Alene Mayland, 85, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Cave City Nursing Home.  She was born September 18, 1935 in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas to the late Thomas Andrew Manuel and Gertie Davis James. She married H.C. Mayland on January 4, 1958 in Lynn.   Alene was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynn. She babysat many children and operated a bakery for many years during her life.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and brothers, Wayne and J.D. James.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, H.C. Mayland of the home; four children, Sandra Anderson of Lynn, Stanley Mayland (Barbara) of Strawberry, Stephanie Modisette (Zane) of Reyno, and Shawna Satterwhite (Mickey) of Lynn; sister, Carloyn Melton (R.B.) of Newark; grandchildren, Jake, Jill, Josh, Malerie, Trisha, Deborah, and Chase; great-grandchildren, Cambree, Maggie, Beau, Madison, Molly, Lilly, and Lane.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 18,2020 from 1 until 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Lynn.  The funeral will follow immediately at 2 p.m. with Jason Palmer officiating and Josh Mayland reading the obituary.  Interment will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery in Lynn under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jake Mayland, Mickey Satterwhite, Zane Modisette, Chance Baxter, Cody Bennett, and Seth Cannon.

Honorary pallbearers are Chase Satterwhite and Beau Baxter.
