At 10:58 pm on Thursday, Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a semi on fire behind the Hays Grocety Store in Walnut Ridge.
Walnut Ridge Police and Fire were both notified. Walnut Ridge Police was on scene at 10:59 pm. Walnut Ridge Fire engine 2 was on scene at 11:00pm. Initial reports from the scene stated the cab of the semi was fully involved.
Within minutes the Walnut Ridge fire department was able to exstinguish the fire but the truck was a total loss. Reports from the scene stated it was a scheduled delivery containing groceries. No word in the condition of the contents of the trailer. The incident is being investigated the Walnut Ridge PD. The damaged vehicle was towed from the area by Cook’s Wrecker of Walnut Ridge. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
