The search for wanted suspect Carson Gates in the Walnut Ridge/Hoxie area continues as Chief Chris Kirksey releases new information in the case against Gates.
On October 28th the WRPD went to a residence at 1804 Ashley to question Gates about (6) break-ins in the areas of Ashley and Holly Streets in Walnut Ridge. According to Chief Kirksey the Walnut Ridge PD had information of Gates being involved in the crimes. As officers approached a shop building where Gates had been staying, Carson Gates slammed the door shut refusing to allow officers in before jumping through a window and escaping. Walnut Ridge Police were assisted by Hoxie Police and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office searching for the burglary suspect through the night. Chief Kirksey stated that he did make phone contact with the suspect but he refused to turn himself over to authorities.
Once entry was gained to the shop, investigators found numerous items linking Gates to the break-ins and found even more items on Saturday dumped on Paradise Road including victim’s ID and credit cards according to Chief Kirksey.
Chief Kirksey stated he believes Carson Gates is still in the Walnut Ridge/Hoxie area and states more charges are possible including charges for those who may be harboring the fugitive or hindering his apprehension.
Chief Kirksey is reaching out to the public and ask that this information be shared on social media to help law enforcement in the arrest of this suspect.
Carson Gates is currently on Parole for a 2014 Drug Conviction.
