At 10:16 am the Lawrence County Dispatch received a report of a motorcycle versus truck accident on Hwy 63 near Clear Springs Road.
Black Rock Fire Department, Black Rock Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and AET Ambulance all responded to the scene.
Once on scene medics requested a medical helicopter respond to the area. One person was injured, the driver of the motorcycle. Black Rock Firefighters set up a landing zone in a field next to the Rest Area for the helicopter to land.
Black Rock Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted with the traffic as the injured male was loaded into the ambulance and transported to the landing zone.
Survival Flight arrived at the landing zone and the patient was transferred from the ambulance to the helicopter and flown to an area hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.
