At 9:04 pm on Tuesday night the Lawrence County Dispatch was notified by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office of several deputies in pursuit of a fleeing vehicle from Greene County headed towards Lawrence County.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Walnut Ridge Police, Arkansas State Police and Hoxie Police were notified and converged on the area of Waylan’s Curve on Hwy 412 between Walnut Ridge and the Greene County line. Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office set up spike strips at Waylan’s Curve in an effort to stop the speeding vehicle from entering the Walnut Ridge area. At 9:12 pm Greene County notified Lawrence County Dispatch that the vehicle had turned off on Lawrence 619 to avoid the Lawrence County roadblock, units in pursuit then radioed that the vehicle turned on to Lawrence 620 headed back towards Greene County. 

According to reports, the area of 620 that the suspect vehicle turned onto was a dead end road. Within minutes radio traffic from Greene County stated that the fleeing suspect was in custody. No injuries were reported in the incident.
