Third Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce’s office today announced the conviction of Richard Randal Kourakis, 57 years old of Ash Flat in Sharp County Court. The prosecutions was led by Deputy Prosecutor Ryan Cooper, Prosecutor Henry Boyce, Deputy Prosecutor Joe Grider and Deputy Prosecutor Tom Garner also assist in the trial.
Kourakis was arrested after a search warrant was executed by the 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force and Sharp County Deputies at his home located at 58 South Circle in Ash Flat. A search turned up numerous firearms, drug paraphernalia and was is being described as a “pint jar of marijuana butter”. Kourakis was convicted of Possession of Marijuana with purpose to deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, a Class Y Felony.
Kourakis was sentenced today at the conclusion of a jury trial composed of 8 women and 4 men, Kourakis will serve his sentence in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
