Monday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a call from an employee at the Imboden Dollar General reporting a handgun being found in the restroom of the store.
A Lawrence County Deputy was dispatched to the scene, the weapon was recovered and taken to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.
The weapon was reported to be a loaded Ruger .380 caliber automatic pistol. Investigators were contacted by the owner of the firearm who stated she must have dropped it from her purse while using the restroom at the store.
No word from investigators about any charges in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
