Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies Along with Hoxie PD Arrest a Jonesboro Man on Multiple Charges

On October 1, 2013 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office along with the Hoxie Police Department arrested James Thomas Morgan, age 34 of Jonesboro for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (meth), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, use of a communication device to commit a felony and fleeing in a vehicle.

The arrest came after an undercover narcotics operation in Sedgwick. Morgan met with an informant and an undercover officer and offered to sell meth to them.

Officers in the area attempted to arrest Morgan but he was able to flee in his vehicle.

Officers pursued Morgan and Morgan tried to hit patrol vehicles during the pursuit. Morgan was stopped and arrested. Inside the vehicle officers found meth, marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia use to consume drugs and used to sell drugs.

Morgan was transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
