The theme of this year’s Arkansas Heritage Month is “Saving Our Heritage: Arkansas’s Historic Structures.” Come celebrate with us by taking a special, behind-the-scenes tour of five of these historic structures. You’ll learn about the development and decline ofÂ a steamboat town and discover the fascinating story of how these buildings were saved and painstakingly preserved.

Freshwater pearls from the bottom of the Black River have been a large part of our local history, but what do you do with the pearls once theyâ€™re found?Â Join our staff to make beautiful necklaces, bracelets, or earrings from milky white pearls and learn about the history of the freshwater pearling industry on the Black River.Â Note: the pearls used in this workshop were not harvested from the Black River.
