Lawrence County Deputies, Sheriff Jody Dotson and volunteers from ATOD spent Saturday collecting unwanted medication during the 5th Annual RX Takeback Program.

According to Sheriff Dotson, over 118 pounds of medications were collected by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office for disposal. The drugs will be transferred to Huntsville Alabama to be incinerated.

Members of ATOD and the Sheriff’s Office gave out coloring books, pens and notepads to those who came by each location. The RX Takeback had booths set up in Walnut Ridge at the Sheriff’s Office, the Imboden Sub-Station and at Strawberry. Each location had volunteers from ATOD along with officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
