The Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department responded around 11:30 am. on Sunday to a structure fire on Hwy. 63 just north of Black Rock.

Fire Chief Pat Roby stated the residents were home and the fire was believed to have stated around the chimney. Mr. Roby stated the home was built in the 1890’s, sadly it was a total loss. Black Rock was assisted by the Portia Volunteer Fire Department.

No injuries were reported in the fire, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Black Rock Fire Department with traffic control.
