Walnut Ridge Police Release Information On Drug Arrest

The Walnut Ridge Police Department stated that Christopher L. Hutcherson was arrested last week after tips received from the community and a surveillance produced what officers describe as sufficient information to obtain a warrant.

Hutcherson was arrested and charged with Possession Of A Controlled Substance with intent to deliver. Bond was set at $15,000.00 for Hutcherson after a Bond Hearing.

According to the Walnut Ridge Police Department on 1-30-12 an affidavit for a warrant was prepared and presented to District Judge Larry Hayes on Delivery of a controlled substance.  The affidavit is a result of an investigation by WRPD officers on illegal drug activity by a Christopher Hutcherson.  After several hours of survallence, officers were able to set up and complete two controlled drug buys from Hutcherson for marijuana.  Hutcherson age 23 of Walnut Ridge was arrested on 1-31 after a traffic stop on Southern Avenue.  A Walnut Ridge officer was on patrol, when he spotted hutcherson driving a vehicle on Hwy 91.  The officer was aware that Hutcherson had a suspended drivers license and a felony warrant for Delivery of a Controlled substance.  While on the traffic stop, Hutcherson stated to officers that he had marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle in a coat pocket.  The owner of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle and the marijuana was found in the trunk.  Hutcherson was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.  At a probable cause bond hearing on 2/2/12, a bond of 15000.oo was set on Hutcherson with a Circuit Court date of 3/15 on charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with the purpose to deliver.
