On January 08, 2012 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Steven Phillips (01/16/92) of Imboden for commercial burglary and criminal trespass. The arrest stems from a break in at Foothills Home Entertainment in Imboden on December 30th. The owner of the business walked into his business and found himself face to face with a man wearing a mask and holding a tire tool. The man wearing the mask and caring the tire tool told the business owner that he did not want to hurt him that he was just looking for money for his children. The man fled out the back and got into a black Dodge pickup. The business owner called the Sheriff’s Office and an investigation was started. The business owner gave a good description of the vehicle and the subject. A few days later patrolling deputies spotted a black Dodge pickup matching the description and spoke with the driver. The driver, Phillips, was very nervous as deputies spoke with him. Deputies took Phillips information and gave it to the investigators. Investigators took the information and followed up on the case. Phillips was Mirandize and questioned at the Imboden Sub-Station about the break in. Phillips confessed to the break in, he also gave the investigators the mask and tire tool. Phillips was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing. Also of interest it was learned that Phillips does not have any children.
