Jared Wicker, first grade, is May’s Student of the Month. Students are selected based on their hard
work and citizenship. When asked what he liked best about the Charter School Jared said, “Reading”,
and when asked what books he liked to read he said, “all of them”. Jared said he likes to fish and hunt
in his spare time. The Charter School puts a great deal of emphasis on the basics of reading, writing and
arithmetic. Students have an individual program of study, and progress over the last eight years the K-
8 school has been in existence has been phenomenal, with some students gaining three years in their
reading level in one year.
