The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of Samantha Pearson of Corning for possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest came after a deputy was at a local pharmacy in Walnut Ridge and noticed a driver’s license in the floor. The deputy picked up the license and asked the pharmacy about the person and was told the woman just walked out. The deputy went outside and saw the woman on the license. The deputy then approached the vehicle to speak with her and noticed a strong smell of marijuana. The woman identified as Pearson gave the deputy a baggie of marijuana. Inside the vehicle the deputy saw used syringes. Pearson then threw down a purple bag that contained several more syringes and some meth.

Pearson admitted that all the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to her. Pearson was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
