Sheriff Melton was trying to get to people who were trapped in a rural part of the county. A spot in the road was washed out and hidden by water. The spot had washed most of the road out about 2 feet deep. All county roads will have major damage like this for the coming days that can be hidden by the water. Sheriff Melton was not injured.
