According to the Jonesboro Fire Department one person died early Thursday morning as a fire swept through their residence.
The JFD responded to the Fire at 1:49 am on Sept. 9th in the 3400 block of Parkwood Road.
Firefighters found “heavy smoke and fire.†upon arrival and began extinguishing the blaze.
According to reports firefighters discovered someone inside the home and quickly removed them.
Medical care was administered until an ambulance arrived and took the victim to a nearby hospital where a doctor later pronounced them dead.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
The fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal.
