Lawrence County And Pocahontas Dive Teams Search Area For Possible Missing Subject From Craighead County
 
Teams from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dive Team and Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Team assembled on Tuesday at a pond just off Lawrence 609.
 
Craighead County reported that a person of interest in a possible domestic case had not been heard from since sometime around noon on Sunday. The subject’s phone was “pinged” an showed to be in the area of Lawrence 609 around the pond. Sheriff’s Investigators used a helicopter to do an aerial search of the area while the two dive teams moved into place to rule out the possibility of a victim in the water.
 
A Rescue Boat from the Pocahontas Fire Department was moved in and using side scan sonar, the area was search in 20 feet wide patterns until the pond was searched. The search of the pond turned up nothing. Deputies, members of the dive team and the Arkansas State Police search the remaining ground area.
 
A second body of water in the area was also searched by a Diver from the Lawrence County Dive Team after it was located by officers, this search turned up nothing as well. Officers completed the search of the target area, the search was called off by 1:00 pm.
 
In addition to the Lawrence County and Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Teams, the Walnut Ridge Fire Department was on scene along with the Walnut Ridge Police Department. The aerial search was conducted by Prost of Black Rock.
 
The subject’s name has not been released at this time by Craighead County, the case is still under investigation.
