Tomorrow makes one month since Jessica Paige Kemp was last seen. Family, friends and volunteers continue to search the area around Lake Ashbaugh where her vehicle was abandoned.
Jessica Paige Kemp’s vehicle was found abandoned at a primitive camp site along with her belongings.
The last confirmed contact with Jessica Paige Kemp was on May 5th after she placed a 911 call to Greene County. Jessica Paige Kemp allegedly called stating there was “someone under her car”. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the rural campsite and are believed to have been the last to have contact with the 32 year old female.
Searches have been launched in the area she was last seen daily, tips of possible sightings have also been followed up on in several surrounding counties with no results.
Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder released a statement on May 30th of the investigation stating that his officers had contact on May 5th but acknowledging that Jessica Paige Kemp was not reported missing until 9 days later on May 14th.
Sheriff Snyder stated the following concerning his officer’s encounter with Jessica Paige Kemp on May 5th:
“Upon the deputy’s arrival, it was determined that nothing was under or in Kemp’s vehicle. During the Crisis Intervention trained deputy’s conversation with Kemp, it was learned (confirmed by radio traffic) that Kemp had recently stopped taking prescription medications to treat mental health. At the time of the deputy’s interview of Kemp, she did not meet the criteria for being taken into custody under the provisions afforded to Crisis Intervention Trained officers under Act 423 of 2017. Kemp advised the deputy that she would follow up with her physician regarding her mental health medications.”
In May 14th Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the campsite along with Arkansas Game and Fish and searched the immediate area, followed by a second search of the area the following day including drones, boats and UTV’s.
To date, numerous searches have been launched in the area she was last seen. Jessica Paige Kemp was known to have 2 cell phones, both were recovered at the campsite, warrants for cell phone records and tower dumps were issued on May 21st by GCSO.
Family and friends have used every source available to spread the word, flyers can be found all over northeast Arkansas, southeast Missouri and west Tennessee along with hundreds if not thousands of social media post.
Family of Jessica Paige Kemp have publicly expressed their frustration with local law enforcement claiming no body cam footage or dash camera footage has been provided leading to speculation about the investigation.
Sheriff Snyder stated “there were no signs of foul play at the scene. Ms. Kemp is thirty-two years of age. She is free to live her life as she sees fit, including not having contact with family and/or friends.”
Tomorrow marks one month since anyone had confirmed contact with Jessica Paige Kemp, the search continues.
A Facebook page called Help Us Find Jessica Paige Kemp has been established along with a Go Fund Me account.
