Positive cases of COVID-19 continue to rise at the Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas this week. The nursing home has 61 positive cases as of Friday, August 7th, 2020. 10 recovered, 1 discharged to hospice house, 3 in the hospital, and 8 deaths. Employees 29 positive with 15 recovered.
Nursing homes have been some of the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic despite restrictions placed on visitations in March. Many family members are visiting residents windows to spend a few moments with loved ones or staying in touch via phone and Face Time. Those residents with dementia have a difficult time using the phone as well as those with vision and hearing issues. It’s approaching five months that many have been without contact with loved ones in facilities that still have positive cases.
We continue to pray for Randolph Home residents, staff, and families.
Our readers should be aware that the number of cases and deaths reported are delayed on the ADH website reports.Â
