At 11:52am the Lawrence County Dispatch requested units to respond to the area of the Powhatan Court House after reports of a gun shot victim. The subject was said to be slumped over with a weapon in hand.
Lawrence County CID, ProMed Ambulance and the Lawrence County Coroner were all contacted.
Reports from the scene stated the male subject was in his vehicle in the parking area slumped over when visitors noticed him with an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound.
