Authorities say an interview conducted by 16th Judicial Drug Task Force concerning an investigation into conspiracy to furnish prohibited articles at the Grimes Unit took an unexpected turn.
Several employees at the ADC facility were interviewed in late October by Special Agents about the investigation but during one interview with female Sgt. Sarah Looney investigators were surprised when she admitted that she had consensual sexual intercourse with an incarcerated inmate identified as Adrian Alexander.
Looney told investigators the relationship began in September 2025 with flirting and kissing and progressed into October 2025 to oral and vaginal sex.
Looney, who had been mirandized by authorities continued by stating during October the two had consensual intercourse in the kitchen area of the Grimes facility where Looney was a supervisor.
Inmate Alexander corroborated Looney’s admission in a post-Miranda interview with investigators.
An internal investigation with ADC and written statements from both Looney and Alexander confirmed the relationship between the two.
On February 11th 2026 a Bench Warrant was issued in Jackson County for the arrest of Sarah Idabeth Looney of Alicia. Looney was charged in Jackson County with 4 counts of Sexual Assault 4th Degree (Felony).
